A marketplace for WordPress themes: Themeforest

  • Hi Omar,

I think you may have missed a couple of important considerations when choosing a theme. Stay away from drag and drop themes. Some of the most popular themes on Themeforest are drag and drop. Theses themes are huge and are slow to load. One of the metrics Google uses for ranking is page load time. Yes, this is only one of the many metrics Google uses but this has a real world effect on bounce rates. The other issue with drag and drop themes is they are not easy to change. You will spend days removing custom classes.

I think a better choice may be with going with a framework theme such as Genesis or Thesis. These are more standards compliant and are easier to change in the future. They are also lighter and load faster. They may take a little longer to configure but are well worth the time and effort.
